Charles Talbot

Charles is an experienced and highly skilled Occupational Therapist, graduating in 2009 from The University of Brighton. Based in Dorset, he is dedicated to delivering exceptional neurological rehabilitation to clients with acquired brain injuries, aiming to transform the lives of individuals facing physical or mental health challenges by promoting health through meaningful occupation.

With a holistic approach, Charles excels at understanding his clients’ unique needs and helping them achieve their goals through occupation and engagement in purposeful activities. He recognises that when individuals experience injury or poor mental or physical health, their ability to perform daily roles is compromised, which directly impacts their sense of identity and self-esteem. This loss can have a significant effect on both emotional and physical wellbeing. Charles supports his clients in returning to their desired roles and routines, whether fully, partially, or with the help of adaptation or compensation strategies.

Working in a client-centred manner, Charles helps people with brain injuries plan and reach their goals across multiple domains, including cognitive, emotional, physical, functional, and behavioural areas.

Charles is well-versed in providing cognitive rehabilitation, functional skills rehabilitation, mindfulness training, resilience and stress management, vocational rehabilitation, motivation and acceptance, cognitive strategies, and brain injury education.

He is a proud member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists, the Health and Care Professions Council, the Neurological Specialist Section of Occupational Therapy, and The Society for Cognitive Rehabilitation.
