David Bowen

Dave is a highly skilled Occupational Therapist, having gained a wealth of experience since graduating from Oxford Brookes University in 2013. Dave has a passion for the rehabilitation of patients with diverse and complex neurological presentations and specialises in brain injury and stroke. He has completed his MSc module in neurorehabilitation and is currently a Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist in Brain Injury within the NHS, Gloucestershire.

Dave has worked in a range of specialisms across acute and community settings, providing assessments, interventions, education and support to clients. This has enabled him to understand the complexity of neurological injuries and the impact it has on function. Dave has developed expansive knowledge, skills and tools to support clients throughout all stages of their recovery and values the use of a collaborative approach.

Being dedicated to helping clients with brain injuries to reach their full potential, Dave delivers exceptional neurological rehabilitation and supports clients to return to their desired roles and routines through functional-task practice. Dave has a passion for upper limb rehabilitation and has developed specialised clinical skills in this area. Dave is well-versed in providing evidenced-based interventions such as constraint-induced movement therapy as well as fatigue management, cognitive and vocational rehabilitation.

Dave’s has an excellent comprehension of research and the importance of embedding evidence into practice to ensure clinical effectiveness and high-quality outcomes for clients. He is a proud member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists and the Health and Care Professions Council.
