Dr Branwen Major is a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist with 10 years’ of experience supporting people with mental health difficulties and neurological conditions.
After moving here from South Africa, she obtained the Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Surrey, the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Exeter, and the Post Graduate Diploma with distinction in Neuropsychology from the University of Bristol. She is on the Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists.
Branwen has worked as a psychologist for the NHS within Neurorehabilitation and Chronic Pain services, and currently works as a senior psychologist in a busy hospital, supporting patients, families and staff on inpatient neurology and stroke wards. In her private work she specialises in brain injury rehabilitation, as well as psychotherapy for individuals experiencing physical health, chronic pain, trauma or mental health difficulties, utilising Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
BPS chartered, HCPC registered and on the Specialist Register of Neuropsychologists, Branwen has both professional and personal experience of the impact of neurological conditions on families, and so is especially aware of the importance of including carers and loved ones in the assessment, rehabilitation, and psychological therapy of clients she is supporting.
