Dr. Claire Bazen-Peters is co-founder and Managing Partner of Totus Neurorehabilitation. Based in Exeter she is Clinical Lead for the neurorehabilitation teams in Devon, Cornwall and Somerset.
Claire’s interest in neuropsychology began when studying for her undergraduate degree and also volunteering for the charity Headway in 2002. Soon after qualifying as a Clinical Psychologist in 2011, Claire obtained the Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Clinical Neuropsychology in 2014.
Since then, Claire has held various posts within the NHS working in the field of neuropsychology and rehabilitation. She has a keen interest in working within the community and the context of a client’s own environment. Her approach incorporates systemic interventions (appreciating the wider circle clients with brain injuries sit within) and utilising individual, evidence based, rehabilitation strategies to develop independence and meet the specific goals of clients. Claire is also trained in EMDR for trauma therapy.
Moving into independent practice, Claire continues to engage with and participate in ongoing research projects. She specialises in Mental Capacity Assessments having held the role of Special Visitor for the Office of the Public Guardian for several years.
Outside of Totus Neurorehabilitation, she also holds a role as the Vice Chair of regional charity Headway Devon.
