Gloucestershire
Dr Hannah Wright is an experienced Clinical Psychologist with additional post-graduate training in paediatric neuropsychology. She is currently working towards the requirements for the Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists.
Hannah obtained her doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2018 and has since specialised in supporting children and families with complex neurodevelopmental and psychological difficulties in the NHS and private practice. Her interest in neuropsychology began whilst working with children who were adopted or living in foster care, where she encountered a range of undiagnosed neurodivergent presentations and brain injuries, complicated by experiences of trauma. Her current NHS role involves diagnostic assessment of children’s neurodevelopmental differences including autism, ADHD, language disorders, intellectual disabilities, and neurodevelopmental disorders.
Hannah is experienced in working with muti-disciplinary teams to undertake comprehensive assessments of cognition, behaviour, and neurodevelopment, providing evidence-based recommendations for intervention and support. She works creatively and systemically with families, professionals, and communities to support children in achieving their goals. Her therapeutic approach is playful, accepting, curious and empathetic, drawing on approaches including Compassion Focussed Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. She is experienced in delivering trauma processing therapy including Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET).
Hannah also works as an associate research tutor and has published research in several peer-reviewed journals.
