Ruth completed her BSc in Psychology in 2015, followed by an MSc in Neuropsychology in 2018, where she obtained a distinction and was awarded The Rosa Burden Award for top performing student. She went on to complete her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in September 2023 and she is currently completing the entry requirements for the Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists.
Ruth has worked across a range of neuropsychology settings. For 4 years prior to completing her doctorate, she worked in inpatient neurorehabilitation, outpatient neuropsychology and a cognitive disorders clinic. Since qualifying as a Clinical Psychologist, she has worked in the stroke neuropsychology team at North Bristol NHS Trust. Here, she supports patients, families, carers and other multi-disciplinary professions across inpatient, rehabilitation and community settings.
Ruth provides neurocognitive assessment, formulation, rehabilitation and psychological therapy. She utilises a variety of therapeutic models, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Compassion Focused Therapy. Ruth holds a Foundation qualification with the Association for Family Therapy and often works with a systemic focus.
Ruth is passionate about providing high quality person-centred care and has a particular drive for promoting accessibility of neuropsychological information and approaches for patients with cognitive and communication difficulties.
