Lucy is an imaginative and adaptable Occupational Therapist with over 16 years experience working in acute and community settings with working age and older adults with complex physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs.
Lucy qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2008 from the University of East Anglia and has since then gained a wide range of experience working with conditions affecting physical and mental health including neurological conditions, dementia, anxiety, depression, physical disability, long term conditions and mobility issues.
Lucy uses a holistic approach to enable individuals to identify achievable goals to increase their function and participate in meaningful activities. She has extensive experience of people handling, completing risk assessments and identifying appropriate equipment to support optimal care input, and is qualified to train others in people handling and risk assessment. Lucy is proficient in assessing posture management needs including specialist seating, and has comprehensive knowledge to provide housing advice and recommendations for major and minor adaptations at work. Lucy has a special interest in telecare and assistive technologies and how these can empower and maintain dignity.
Lucy is a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists Specialist Section for Independent Practice and a member of the National Back Exchange. She regularly attends training and CPD opportunities to ensure her practice is up to date and evidence based.
