Martha graduated as a physiotherapist from Oxford Brooked University in 2012 and soon decided neurological rehabilitation was where her passion lay. Specialising since 2015, Martha has worked in a range of specialist neurological services in both the NHS and private sector including acute and community stroke rehabilitation, brain injury teams, case management, oncology and neurology teams.
She has refined her assessment and treatment skills over time and is committed to her continuous professional development. In 2018 Martha became an accredited aquatic physiotherapist and is able to offer hydrotherapy sessions as an excellent alternative to land-based therapy. In 2023 Martha qualified in vestibular rehabilitation to offer further support to those suffering with BPPV, PPPD, dizziness and imbalance.
Martha enjoys getting to know people, their abilities and what really matters to them in order to establish clear goals for their individual rehabilitation and has often been complimented on her personable, engaging approach. She has great experience with a wide variety of neurological physiotherapy adjuncts including neuro muscular electrical stimulation, repetitive task practice, constraint-induced movement therapy programmes, neuro-taping, and is able to support with sourcing of functional splints and aids.
Martha is a keen advocate for clients returning to activity after neurological injury and has great knowledge of local accessible support groups, activities and opportunities.
Martha is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists Interested in Neurology (ACPIN).
