Rachel Marr

Associate, Specialist Occupational Therapist

Rachel is an experienced Occupational Therapist, she qualified with a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy from Oxford Brookes University in 2001. She spent several years working on rotations in medicine, care of the elderly, renal care, stroke unit, and cardiac unit.

Rachel has worked for over 13 years specifically with adults who have experienced acquired brain injury, multiple sclerosis and motor neurone disease. She works in the NHS on an acute stroke unit, neuro rehab unit and in the community neuro rehab team and has also worked in the private sector since 2022.

Rachel enjoys working closely with clients to understand their needs and goals for independence in activity, whether that be in the areas of self-care, leisure or paid/ volunteer occupation. She works through practice, strategies and education for cognition, perception, insight and fatigue. She believes strongly in a client led approach, and taking into account the journey they will have been through to get to the point of rehabilitation.

Rachel is a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapy, Health Care Professions Council, Neurological Specialist section of Occupational Therapy and Independent Specialist Section of Occupational Therapy. She keeps up to date with current and new practice by attending journal cubs, trainings and through reflection and group supervision.
