Sharné Botes

Paediatric Occupational Therapist

Sharné qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2005 at the University of Stellenbosch and she obtained her Master’s degree in early childhood intervention from the University of Pretoria in 2013, both in South Africa.

Her post graduate studies further include certification as a practitioner in Ayers sensory integration form Sheffield Hallum University in 2022.

Sharné has experience in paediatric and adult fields and across all settings including neonatal services, ICU and acute hospital services, rehabilitation (long and short term), community, schools, and workplaces.

Sharné has gained experience working in different countries, including South Africa and the United Arab Emirates, where she was able to further hone her skills and during which she developed a strong interest in neurological rehabilitation across all ages. She worked within a private rehabilitation setting in England for two years before becoming a lecturer in Occupational Therapy at the University of West England.

Sharné has a passion for working with individuals, young and old, and using their interests, strengths, and current abilities to achieve their aims for a life worth living. She believes in building trust and strong relationships and in working as a team to achieve the best outcomes.
