Tina Mackie

Tina brings specialists skills in neurological and facial rehabilitation.

Tina qualified as a Physiotherapist from the University of Birmingham in 2002.  She gained a broad range of experience in all areas of Physiotherapy rehabilitation whilst doing her junior and senior rotations in the NHS.  She soon realised that Neurology interested her the most, and then specialised as a Neuro Physiotherapist, working in Neuro outpatients, Neuro community, Inpatient Stroke and Neuro units and then as Physio Team Lead of the Neuro Rehab Unit in Plymouth.

Alongside this, she became a trained member of Facial Therapy Specialists International, treating NHS patients for facial weakness across the South West region.

Tina is committed to continuously keeping up to date with advances in knowledge and treatment.  She has attended many courses, including the use of Pilates and Kinesiology tape in Neurology.  She is trained in both Bobath (BBTA) and Motor Relearning approaches. She is a member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists Interested in Neurology (ACPIN), Facial Therapy Specialists International (FTS Int) and other professional networks that strive to share knowledge and expertise.

From her time working on the Plymouth Neuro Rehab Unit, Tina has extensive experience working with very complex clients that benefit from an MDT approach.

Tina enjoys working alongside her clients to help them achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.
